How do I summon the German language-speaking side of tumblr? I need some translation help and specifically, i need it from people who live in or very near to the city of Freiburg, or are otherwise very proficient in the dialect thereof.

We now return to the irregularly scheduled Whatever The Fuck This Is.

I’m going to hold off on watching more of My Adventures with Superman so I can binge a couple of episodes all at once.

Incorrect Lord of the Rings Quotes

So I have the ideal Bruce Wayne Intro, but an ideal Batman intro is a different idea.

MAWS Season 2, intermittently, we hear through Jimmy, and other sources, about the weird creepy bat shadow-demon cryptid thing in Gotham and multiple, reliable, credible eye-witnesses confirm something weird is going on, but it’s constantly overshadowed by Bruce Wayne going full Brucie and distracting the press.

Then, in MAWS season 3, a World’s Finest cross-over. No indication that it’s a crossover. Bruce Wayne isn’t anywhere near Metropolis until the final five minutes. There’s a mystery in Metropolis and Batman just turns up on Superman’s turf barely offering an explanation for why.

I would love if My Adventures With Superman pulled an “Everyone thinks Clark Kent is dead” plot like the original Superman TAS did in “The Late Mr. Kent.” Lois’s cute pixie grows out to a grief shag and she becomes deranged trying to solve the mystery, Jimmy goes completely off the rails with conspiracy theories, Superman is basically stuck as Superman because he can’t figure out how to come up with an explanation as to how Clark Kent survived a damn car bomb until he solves the whole mystery as to who tried to kill him. There’s a lot of material that can still be really fresh, especially with this particular interpretation of the characters.

Lois, sobbing into Superman’s chest: He’s dead! He’s exploded! He’s a fine red mist! And the last thing I said to him was my stupid coffee order!

Superman, distantly: No-foam doubleshot almond milk latte…

Lois: What?

Superman: What?

The OG episode is low-key funny because everyone is:

But then there’s Clark:

That Kara Zor-El post sure resonated huh guys.

An ideal (for me, at least) Bruce Wayne introduction in MAWS would go something like:

Clark, Lois, and Jimmy get sent to cover a Very Important Wayne Enterprises Gala Presentation Thing because Gotham hasn’t traumatized them (yet). There’s Bruce Wayne. He’s the twinkiest man in the room. Just full on elegant gothic vampire vibes amped up to a hundred and nothing he says or does makes Jimmy any less convinced that Bruce isn’t actually a vampire.

Somehow, the Daily Planet trio gets Bruce to agree to a short interview. But when they arrive at Stately Wayne Manor the next day, Bruce is over-caffeinated, hissing at sunlight, wearing nothing but boxers, and is face-down in a bowl of blueberries while looking like he lost a fight to the hedges out front.

I keep seeing people wondering why Jor-El’s AI wasn’t programmed to anticipate a langauge barrier and Clark not speaking Kryptonese.

Here’s why this isn’t a plot-hole or an oversight or anything like that.

Clark’s bio-cousin Kara Zor-El is listed in the cast of characters over on wikipedia with a voice actor, meaning she’s slated to appear sometime in season 1.

In nearly all portrayals, Kara is older than Clark, being in her young-to-mid teens when Krypton went kaboom. But shenanigans happen and she arrives on Earth still the same age as when she left Krypton and Clark is already an adult. In the 2015 Supergirl series, Kara was supposed to arrive on Earth alongside Clark and help raise him (obviously, that didn’t happen).

HOWEVER, if the MAWS writers borrowed that aspect from 2015 Supergirl, then Jor-El really did expect Clark to know Kryptonese because Kara would have taught her cousin the language. What he didn’t anticipate was Kara never arriving.

now that My Adventures with Superman is out in the wild, everyone’s saying that they should do a Justice league show too. Whilst I would not be opposed to a JL show in this universe, I think if any JL founder should get a solo feature MAWS style, it oughta be J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter.
